NEW SUPER LUIGI U REVIEW

Well, it's been 10 months since my last review, but I decided I wanted to do another one, this time for a recently released game!

New Super Luigi U is a DLC expansion for New Super Mario Bros. U. However, Nintendo released a standalone version of the game (which is what I will be reviewing).

Alright, well let's not waste any time and get started with the review!

  • PLOT:
Princess Peach is kidnapped by Bowser and his Koopa Kids. Instead of Mario, Luigi is the star of the show this time around!
  • GRAPHICS:
Beautiful HD graphics that fit well with the game. They are definitely a step up from previous Mario games.

  • GAMEPLAY:
New Super Luigi U is definitely not a walk in the park. In fact, it is possibly the hardest Mario game ever. In every level your platforming skills will be put to the test. Also, if you have friends over you can play co-op multiplayer. In co-op you can play as Luigi, Blue Toad, Yellow Toad, and because Mario is not in this adventure, Nabbit takes his place. Nabbit's advantage is that he can run straight past enemies, however, he cannot collect any power ups. Also, in co-op you can use the same Boost Mode that was introduced in New Super Mario Bros. U.

  • CONTROLS:
You can play the game with the Wii Remote, Wii U GamePad or Wii U Pro Controller. I personally prefer the Pro Controller, but all 3 options work just fine.

  • SOUND:
The soundtrack is the same as New Super Mario Bros. U's, and it still holds up well and is fun to listen to as you are playing the game.

  • SUMMARY:
If you are a fan of Mario games, or platforming games in general, you will definitely like this. Be warned though, this is not an easy game, but that is not a bad thing. I give this game:

9.5/10

Thank you for reading!
